Job Description

SGS is currently looking for a qualified H&S Coordinator to provide comprehensive Health & Safety (H&S) services for a client who has two subsidiaries located in the United States and Canada. This contract would start in February until October 2025. Initially it would likely be 23 days a week with the potential to being full time later on.

The principal objectives will be:
Ensure compliance with all federal state/provincial and local H&S regulations in the USA and Canada.
Standardize H&S documentation and processes across USA and Canada.
Support the subsidiaries to create a robust safety culture aligned with Acciona Energa USAs principles.
Provide support to ensure compliance with Stellantis H&S standards across 10 sites in the USA and Canada involved in a light fixture replacement project.

Scope of Work:

  • Regulatory Compliance
  • Documentation Development and Management
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation
  • Reporting and Communication
  • Comprehensive H&S manuals for the USA and Canadian subsidiaries.
  • Sitespecific safety plans.
  • Risk assessment reports with actionable recommendations.
  • 10 plants to be handled in parallel in the USA (9) and Canada (1).
  • Two plants in Michigan USA will require an H&S coordinator with weekly visits.
  • For the remaining plants the support will focus on consulting and document management

Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience as a Health and Safety Coordinator.
  • Must have OSHA/CRSP/NEBOSH or equivalent certifications.
  • Industry experience in Commercial Buildings/Structures/Industrial.
  • Must have previous experience in:
    • Regulatory Compliance
    • Documentation Development and Management
    • Risk Assessment and Mitigation.
  • Work schedule is 8 hours a day
  • Hourly rate: $40$50/hr depending on experience.  
  • Must be able to travel between Canada and the US.
