Job Description

General Information: Internship 3 to 5 months between May and September 2025
Job Title: Internship in Biology research Division/Department: Technology A&S
Reports to: A&S Biology Researcher
Location: position located at Oakville Ontario


Summary of the Job
The Applications & Systems (A&S) group in the Research & Innovation department of Veolia WTS is
looking for an intern in year 1 or year 2 of Bachelor in biology sciences (BSc).
The intern will be able to discover wastewater water and drinking water treatment applications in
the field of MABR MBR and Biology products and applications.
The internship will allow the candidate to discover the applied research covering a wide range of
subjects such as biological suspended/biofilm morphology gas molecular diffusion and ultrafiltration
membranes.
The intern will collaborate with pilot operators laboratory assistants and researchers.


Duties & Responsibilities:
Discover and engage with wastewater activities by:
o producing bank of microscopic images of biomass & using Veolia AI code to
implement sensitivity analysis and reporting (30%)
o studying NAM wastewater regulations by building regulation database(30%)
Support laboratory analyses in Oakville Laboratory (20%)
Discover drinking water applications by shadowing laboratory and pilots operation at
Oakville Technology Center (20%)
Weighting of activities might evolve based on Veolia priority and candidates profile and experience.


Qualifications :

Education & Experience
Required:
Year 1 or Year 2 of Bachelor of Sciences in Biology and/or Environmental fields
Interest to discover water treatment drinking waste and waste water applications

Oakville office as per WTS Canada rules (fulltime)
Occasional shadowing work at Guelph pilot hall facility (210 days in total)
