Job Overview
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join a growing public accounting firm with a longstanding reputation for excellence in Lake County Illinois. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of accounting tax and audit responsibilities while being part of a supportive and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and plan individual and corporate income taxes.
- Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements.
- Provide payroll tax return and sales tax return preparation services.
- Perform bookkeeping services and support audits as needed.
- Collaborate with clients to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- Education: Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years in public accounting.
- Certification: CPA designation or actively working towards it.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Lacerte Ultra Tax Accounting CS and QuickBooks.
- Strong technical understanding of tax and financial statement preparation.

- High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
