Role Overview
The Finance & Accounting Assistant is responsible for providing highquality accounting support including financial reporting reconciliations payroll processing and accounts management. This role plays a key part in monitoring cash flow workinprogress (WIP) and overall financial performance while ensuring compliance with internal policies and financial regulations.
The position also involves collaborating with various departments managing time recording and billing activities in Practice Evolve and assisting with financial risk mitigation strategies for infrastructure construction and capital projects.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Compile analyze and distribute reports on cash flow WIP and financial performance.
- Conduct regular reconciliations of subledgers and accounts.
- Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.
Payroll & Accounts Management
- Support payroll processing including timesheet verification and payroll data entry.
- Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices and expense reports.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Oversee the setup of new matters integrity of time recording chargeout rates and billing activity in Practice Evolve.
Financial Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations tax laws and company policies.
- Identify financial risks in infrastructure construction and capital projects and develop mitigation strategies.
- Support financial administration tasks and ensure compliance with approved budgets.
General Administration & Collaboration
- Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders suppliers and internal teams.
- Ensure financial documentation is properly recorded and stored in the Vision Infrastructure document management system.
- Report financial issues and risks to management in a timely manner.
- Support additional duties as required including covering for team members during leave periods.
Requirements
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field.
- 45 years of experience in accounting or commercial administration.
- Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial reporting reconciliations and accounting processes.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software (e.g. Practice Evolve).
- Attention to Detail: High accuracy in financial reporting and transaction processing.
- ProblemSolving: Analytical skills to review options reach conclusions and make informed recommendations.
- Adaptability: Ability to multitask and manage shifting priorities effectively.
- Communication & Discretion: Strong professional judgment in handling sensitive financial matters.
- Customer Focus: Building strong internal and external relationships with stakeholders.
