Job Description

Red Ember Recruitment is looking for a responsible Financial Officer Manager for managing the financial health of an organization to promote success and growth while maintaining legal financial practices. Their duties typically include financial planning and bookkeeping reviewing financial documents to ensure taxcompliance and collaboration with other departments to achieve monetary goals for one of our clients.

Scope of the Position:
To capture analyse and present the monthly accounts for the client and prepare the accounts for audit annually.
To work directly with the CEO Accounts administrator HR Coordinator fundraising team and the treasurer of the Board of Directors of the client.
Capture and track donor financial reports and provide certain reports to donors including State stakeholders.
Submission of VAT returns and reports to SARS every two months.
Annual budget preparation.
Financial reporting: Prepare and present financial reports such as balance sheets cash flow statements and profit and loss statements
Financial planning: Maintain financial policies and procedures
Budgeting and forecasting: Create and monitor budgets and forecasts and provide updates to senior management
Cash flow management: Oversee the Clients cash flow and ensure funds are allocated properly
Risk management: Manage risk through insurance hedging and other financial instruments
Financial record management: Ensure that financial records transactions and documentation are accurate and comply with regulations
Strategic insights: Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to senior management
Crossfunctional collaboration: Work with other departments to align financial goals with overall business objectives

Description of Main Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Management
Entry every month into Quickbooks Plus from source documents provided by the administrator.
Reconcile all bank statements to eft vouchers.
Reconcile all petty cash.
Reconcile all community expenses.
Reconcile cash card expenses.
Reconcile Credit card expenses.
Prepare the monthly payroll schedules for the payroll administrator.
Oversee check and quality control (monitor) the leave schedule supporting the HR Coordinator and ensuring that the leave schedule/leave provision schedule is correct.
Analyse monthly municipal accounts and entry into creditors.
Analyse monthly Nedfleet statement and entry into creditors.
Analyse monthly Salaries journals against cost centres.
Update monthly DSD funded salary schedule and complete journal entries.
Analyse monthly Overtime for cost centre entry.
Reconcile monthly Staff advances if any.
Monthly reconciliation of IT service provider and other creditors for entry.
Update Asset register monthly and enter depreciation monthly.
Reconcile and produce a monthly Shop sales summary and ledger.
Prepare comprehensive financial management report monthly before 15th of following month.
This requires accurate allocations to cost centers needing journal entries from financial manager s excel analysis sheets e.g. municipal accounts Nedfleet salaries journals to donor grant projects.
Provision of comprehensive management financial report every month

Additional duties bimonthly quarterly annually or as needed.
Vat submissions to SARS efiling when due every 2 months.
DSD and DBE (ECD) Project financial reports every quarter.
Check and produce all other donor project reports when due or requested.
Overseeing of Annual Return of Earnings (ROE) every tax year end Feb from payroll to Dept of Labour for OID assessment assisting the HR administrator.
Overseeing of Employment equity reports online submission assisting the HR administrator.
Preparation of the annual March financial year end accounts with supporting schedules for Audit. Liaison with the auditor.
Annual Budget preparation for the Board of Directors.
Additional monthly duties related to finances if needed and not yet specified.
Responsibilities


Requirements

BCom Degree or equivalent tertiary diploma in accounting or bookkeeping.
A minimum of ten years similar or appropriate experience.
No criminal record and Police Clearance.
Proficiency in Quickbooks PLUS and SARS efiling and preparation of accounts for audit.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel MS Word and Outlook.
Previous experience in the nonprofit sector an advantage.
Driver s license and own vehicle.

Hours
This is a full time day position from Monday to Friday. The position may suit hybrid working in time although at least 3 mornings of inoffice time is expected. The primary office is in Benoni with a subsidiary office in Bryanston. If the incumbent works from Bryanston it will still be necessary to travel to Benoni once per week.
