Job Description

Role Overview
Our client is seeking an organized proactive and detailoriented Legal Secretary to join their team. The ideal candidate will provide essential administrative and secretarial support to ensure the efficient operation of the firm. You will work closely with solicitors and other team members assisting in the preparation of legal documents managing correspondence and maintaining accurate records.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a legal secretary or similar administrative role in a law firm.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite legal document management systems.
  • Strong understanding of legal terminology procedures and documentation.
  • Excellent organizational and timemanagement skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment.
  • A proactive and clientfocused attitude.
  • Familiarity with legal practice management software is an advantage.
  • Professional demeanor and a clientcentric approach.
  • Fast and accurate typing skills.
  • Experience with answering telephones and scheduling client appointments.
  • Proficiency in using a dictaphone for transcription tasks.
  • Must have litigation experience


Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support to solicitors and other legal professionals.
  • Prepare and format legal documents correspondence and reports.
  • Manage diaries schedule appointments and coordinate meetings.
  • Handle incoming calls emails and other communications professionally and promptly.
  • Maintain and organize case files both electronic and physical.
  • Perform accurate data entry and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Liaise with clients courts and external stakeholders as required.
  • File legal documents with the relevant authorities or courts.
  • Conduct basic legal research and assist with the preparation of briefing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with firm procedures and legal regulations.
