Job Description
Our client a leading energy solutions company is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Legal Contract Manager to join their dynamic team. It is essential for the candidate to have corporate commercial experience. This individual will play a key role in drafting reviewing and negotiating a diverse range of contracts as well as managing various legal transactions across the business. The ideal candidate will be detailoriented adaptable and able to navigate complex legal matters with autonomy ensuring compliance and minimizing risk. Key Responsibilities
- Draft review and negotiate various types of agreements including power purchase agreements.
- Manage legal aspects of setting up joint ventures with partners.
- Provide legal advice and support on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Liaise with external legal counsel as required.
- Maintain loan agreement compliance and be involved in closing debt and equity transactions.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to support business objectives.
- Maintain accurate and organised records including updating the company contract tracker.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal developments.
Education and Experience Requirements
- LLB Admitted Attorney.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role ideally in the energy sector.
- Strong experience in drafting and negotiating various types of agreements.
- Proven ability to manage complex legal transactions including joint ventures.
- Excellent analytical negotiation and communication skills.
- Highly detailoriented and able to work independently.
- Strong understanding of South African corporate and commercial law.
- Ability to work effectively in a fastpaced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent problemsolving skills.
