Job Description

Looking for a leader in global freight forwarding and logistics solutions is seeking an experienced and visionary Branch Manager for its JFK location. This pivotal leadership role will oversee all aspects of operations customer service compliance and business performance. Reporting directly to the VP of Operations the Branch Manager will lead a dynamic team and ensure operational excellence in both international and domestic freight forwarding covering air ocean import and export logistics.

We are searching for a strategic thinker with a proven ability to drive organizational success develop highperforming teams and foster client relationships to propel growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Strategy:

    • Lead and inspire a highperforming operations team to deliver bestinclass logistics services.
    • Collaborate with senior leadership to align branch objectives with company goals.
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and business growth.
  • Operational Excellence:

    • Oversee all branch operations including quoting booking tracking and documentation for import/export shipments via air and ocean freight.
    • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and company SOPs.
    • Analyze and improve key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive productivity and service quality.
    • Implement process improvements to enhance client satisfaction and operational performance.
  • Client and Partner Relations:

    • Act as the primary point of contact for escalated client concerns and critical business decisions.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients international agents and vendors.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to support business development and lane optimization.
  • Team Development:

    • Mentor coach and train team members fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Identify and develop nextgeneration leaders within the organization.
    • Communicate executive directives effectively to all team members ensuring alignment and clarity.
  • Performance and Reporting:

    • Manage branch P&L ensuring profitability and cost control.
    • Provide regular performance reports and updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of leadership experience in international freight forwarding or logistics operations with a proven record of success.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of air and ocean import/export logistics is mandatory.
  • Bachelors degree in business supply chain management or a related field is preferred. Relevant experience may substitute for education.
  • Strong understanding of compliance requirements shipping regulations and global trade logistics.
