Job Description

Job Title: GIS Analyst
Interviews: Inperson interviews only
Location: Lansing MI (Local candidates preferred; nonlocal candidates must relocate at their own expense)
Work Schedule: Hybrid (onsite 2 days/week no fully remote option)
Job Description:
  • Develop programs user interfaces menus and macrolevel commands to meet user needs.
  • Perform complex spatial analyses and produce reports based on customer specifications.
  • Assist in developing geographic information systems that manage or leverage geospatial basemap information including creating basemaps tile caches and performing imagery analysis.
  • Conduct GIS program activities such as producing maps spatial databases and thematic data (e.g. wetlands road centerlines cadastre and historic sites).
  • Create adjust correct convert and distribute basemaps and thematic data in digital paper and web formats (ArcGIS Online).
  • Digitize and maintain spatial databases document procedures validate data accuracy and complete metadata forms.
  • Evaluate data from external sources for quality and accuracy using Esri and related tools.
  • Act as a consultant to internal customers during their use development and quality assessment of spatial databases.
  • Provide user support for EGLE users as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • GIS Tools: Proficiency with ArcPro ArcGIS Online (AGOL) Experience Builder Dashboards and web services.
  • Database Experience: Experience with Esri Enterprise (SDE via Catalog) databases is a plus.
  • Spatial Analysis: Knowledge of spatial analyst tools is advantageous.
  • Data Quality Assessment: Ability to validate and evaluate geospatial data for accuracy and completeness.
  • Metadata Management: Experience in updating and maintaining metadata for open data items.
  • FME/Data Interoperability: Experience with FME or similar tools is a plus.

Additional Requirements:

  • Clear and concise communication skills are essential.
