Job Description

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Researches designs and develops tools engines machines controls equipment and mechanical processes
  • Over sees production installation operation maintenance repair and development of new modified and/or existing systems
  • Determines the operations required for fabrication assembly machining or processing of products from parts drawings specifications and other engineering material
  • Responsible for the Pilot Plant facility at the Hopkinsville Kentucky manufacturing complex including maintenance and operation of the equipment in the area
  • Responsible for Pilot furnace runs using pilot scale electrothermal fluidized (EFB) reactors as instructed by Manager EFB R & D Group
  • Work in a team environment supporting High Temperature Technology (HTT) R&D trials and new product development
  • Identify and recommend process improvement projects in the HTT area
  • Executes and implements process improvement projects in the HTT area as directed by supervisor
  • Prepares CAD drawings for new equipment design current equipment modifications and plant layouts
  • Coordinates new product development projects requiring the use of HTT
  • Designs and develops PFDs and P&ID
  • Identifies and specifies suitable equipment for new processes and added capabilities for EFB R&D
  • Works with outside engineering consultants on the redesign of present plant equipment and the design of new systems
  • Works on capital projects as assigned and coordinates work activities by outside contractors as well as in house personnel to make sure the projects are completed on time and within budget while coordinating with current production requirements during the process
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Experience Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Electrical Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or relevant engineering concentrations required
  • Minimum of three years of experience in process engineering in an industrial environment required
  • Computer skills; including CAD (prefer Solid Works) is required
  • Experience with P&IDs PFDs
  • Strong continuous process improvement skills
  • Time management and organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a manufacturing environment
