Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


Ensure data availability for key company operations by monitoring system performance and analyzing data quality
Collaborate with information technology teams to assess, troubleshoot, and resolve data issues
Develop and maintain data management policies and procedures in coordination with relevant departments
Provide regular data reports and updates to management and other stakeholders
Participate in data governance committees and oversee the implementation of data governance policies
Utilize data to identify areas for improvement and recommend solutions to management
Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in data management techniques
Data Availability Strategy:
Develop and Implement Strategy: Develop comprehensive strategies and policies to ensure that data is always available and accessible to authorized users, whether on-premises or in cloud environments.
Proactive Planning: Create long-term strategies for data redundancy, backup, and disaster recovery to ensure continuous availability even in the event of system failures or cyber-attacks.
Align with Business Needs: Work with business units to understand data access requirements and align data availability strategies with organizational goals and compliance standards.
. Data Backup and Recovery:
Backup Systems: Oversee and manage the design and execution of regular data backup procedures. This includes ensuring data is backed up in real-time, at regular intervals, or based on data classification.
Disaster Recovery Plans: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans that specify how to restore data and applications quickly after an incident that disrupts data availability.
Test Recovery Plans: Regularly test disaster recovery protocols to ensure they are effective and efficient, minimizing the downtime required for data restoration.


Desired candidate profile

Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
5+ years of experience in data availability
Strong data analysis and reporting skills
Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience with data governance policies and best practices
Data Security and Compliance:
Security Standards: Collaborate with security teams to enforce strong data security measures, such as encryption and access controls, to protect data from unauthorized access or breaches.
Compliance: Ensure that data availability strategies comply with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks (such as GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX) regarding data retention, protection, and accessibility.
Audit and Reporting: Conduct audits to evaluate the integrity of the data availability infrastructure and report compliance status to management or regulatory bodies.
Monitoring and Performance:
Continuous Monitoring: Implement continuous monitoring tools and dashboards to track the availability of critical data systems, applications, and infrastructure.
Incident Response: Develop and manage processes to respond quickly to data availability incidents, such as server outages, system failures, or cybersecurity threats, minimizing downtime.
Optimize Performance: Work with technical teams to identify and resolve bottlenecks or performance issues in the data infrastructure that may affect data access or processing speed.
