Job Description

Company Overview: Our client is a leading healthcare located in Orange CA seeking a highly motivated and experienced program specialist coordinating the compliance with cultural and linguistic (C&L) state and federal regulatory requirements.


Position Summary: The successful candidate must have at least 2 years of translation or interpretation service experience in a healthcare setting and is bilingual.


Work Duration: Up to 6 months

Work type: Onsite


Position Responsibilities:

Coordinates incoming language translation and/or reviews requests of Health member materials.

Interacts directly with members and providers to coordinate and book facetoface interpreter requests with contracted interpreting vendors.

Coordinates the timely vending and completion of Alternative Format material such as Braille Audio and Large Print with contracted vendors.

Coordinates the vending of professional translation and review services in one or more languages (Arabic Chinese Farsi Korean Spanish and Vietnamese)

Assists in completing and/or responding to regulatory agency reports (Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) etc.) surveys audits and evaluations regarding the client s C&L program.

Reviews researches and responds to member grievances related to contracted vendor issues.

Administrative Support Processes vendor invoices for translation and interpreter services timely and accurately.

Reviews analyzes and interprets regulations and internal/external policies and procedures related to cultural and linguistic services.

Processes vendor invoices for translation and interpreter services timely and accurately.

Reviews analyzes and interprets regulations and internal/external policies and procedures related to cultural and linguistic services.

Complete additional assignments and projects as assigned.

Experience & Education:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Bachelor s degree in a health care related field or cultural and linguistic studies strongly preferred.

2 years of experience in project coordination translations or interpreting services required.

2 years of experience in health maintenance organization (HMO) Medicare Medi Cal/Medicaid and health services.

1 year of experience with a health plan or working with culturally diverse populations strong preferred.

Bilingual in English and one of Arabic Chinese Farsi Korean Spanish or Vietnamese.

Professional education in project management translation interpretation or cultural competency training preferred.

Experience in managed care and/or government programs preferred.


Necessary Attributes:

Establish effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrate independent judgment and decisionmaking skills.

Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Flexible schedule availability for evening and weekend events.

Strong organizational analytical and problemsolving abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Outlook Excel PowerPoint) and jobspecific applications/systems.

Proficiency in advanced anesthesia techniques for cardiac surgeries. Strong knowledge of critical care principles and management of cardiac conditions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Ability to make quick and informed decisions during medical emergencies.

Education

Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiac anesthesia and ICU care, preferably in a hospital or healthcare setting with a high volume of cardiac surgeries. Demonstrated expertise in managing critically ill cardiac patients in the ICU.
