Job Description

Job Description:
This role involves providing specialized repair and maintenance services for diagnostic imaging (e.g. radiology nuclear medicine) and/or laboratory and biomedical equipment. The position emphasizes leadership technical expertise and costeffective service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Specialized Equipment Maintenance:

    • Repair and maintain intermediate imaging systems including Digital Radiography basic CT CT Sim oncology and Vascular/Specials systems (60% of the time).
    • Reduce reliance on external service contracts through effective training and technical skills.

    Leadership and Oversight:

    • Act as a departmental leader mentoring Field Service Specialists (FSS) and ensuring efficient repair and maintenance practices.
    • Provide coverage for the Clinical Engineering (CE) Manager during absences.

    Vendor and Communication Management:

    • Handle service emergencies and liaise effectively with vendors department staff and the CE Manager.

    Logistics and Cost Optimization:

    • Assist in ordering parts and supplies for equipment servicing.
    • Track service cost histories and provide analysis to help reduce expenses.

    Service Expansion:

    • Offer insights to the CE Manager regarding potential new service opportunities.

    Secondary Responsibilities:

    • Provide repair and maintenance for general biomedical equipment as needed.

    Qualifications

    Education:

    • Associates degree in Electrical Engineering Biomedical Engineering Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
    • Equivalent military education graduate of a technical program or equivalent training validated through training certificates.
    • Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

    MustHave Experience:

    • Minimum of five years experience servicing medical imaging equipment including General XRay systems (e.g. Rad Rooms Portables and CArms).
    • Demonstrated ability to repair and maintain a wide variety of imaging equipment.
    • CRES (Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist) certification preferred.
    • Must have a valid Drivers License.

    Required Citizenship / Work Permit / Visa Status:

    • US Citizen or Green Card Holder.
