Job Description:
Engagement:
- This role will wear multiple hats assisting the client Architects to comprehend objectives generate solutions POC the solution generate recommendations then implement the decisions.
- As a Senior Cloud Engineer we are looking for a candidate who will be involved in the design implementation and management of technology based business solutions based on Cloud Services to improve our clients delivery approach.
- This position will assist with the build out of the Microsoft Azure cloud environment and help support the multicloud hosting solution.
- This professional draws on solid knowledge of the companys cloud architecture and platform when designing and developing dynamic cloud solutions.
- Contractor (staff augmentation) Resource
- Sourced through MiSAM Program (Knowledge Services)
- Standard 1 year engagement and 1984 hours. (Purchase Orders based on the fiscal year 10/1 9/30)
- Possible extension beyond the 1year standard agreement
- Full time 40 hours per week Monday Friday
- Must be able to agree to a Hybrid work schedule with 3 days remotes and 2 days inoffice at the SOM DTMB office in the Lansing Area
- Contracted staff will be supporting the Azure Cloud Services development deployment and updating of code modulars for standardizing service.
- Azure Cloud Services is a new service for DTMB OCTO and the skillset requires 35 years of experience and expertise in a large range of supporting services.
- The contracted staff will also be responsible and expected to train FTEs in the service offering to enable the client staff to transition into the role as needed.

- Senior Cloud Engineer 3 5 years required
- Solid knowledge of concepts of designing and developing dynamic Cloud solutions and moving parts involved in continuous integration and delivery. 3 5 years required.
- Guidance to development teams regarding infrastructure 35 years required.
- Cloud Architecting for cloud infrastructure 35 years required.
- Create maintain and troubleshooting skills for cloud infrastructure highly desirable.
- Experience with Servers Infrastructure Platform Sizing Infrastructure Cost Reduction 35 years required.
- Cloud security experience highly desirable.
- Chaos engineering experience highly desirable.
Certification(s):
- Azure MCSE: Cloud Platform and Infrastructure highly desirable.
Core Competencies
- Design and deliver secure cloud solutions on Azure.
- Strong understanding of Linux OS.

- Strong understanding of virtual networks and general network management functions.
- Solid knowledge of concepts of designing and developing dynamic cloud solutions.

- Expert guidance to development teams regarding infrastructure.
- Interpret and provide solutions on complex technologies/architectures.
- Cloud Formation / automation / Ansible / PowerShell / DSC / Comparable Linux scripting.
- Experience equivalent to site reliability engineering DevOps and/or DevSecOps
Core Tasks
- Provide strategic and architectural support representing Design Services and the client Cloud Strategy as a Subject Matter Expert.
- Identify and prioritize critical business functions in collaboration with organizational stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships across organizational teams.
- Consult with vendor product specialists/sales independent research organizations onsite support engineers and fellow architects and administrators on bestfit technologies to ensure compliance to department policies & standards and technology roadmap.
- Coordinate with Enterprise Architecture team for technology validation or suggestions for alternative solutions.
- If necessary initiate Solution Assessments Infrastructure Service.
- Requests and any applicable required documentation to implement new technology.
- Advocate the use of emerging cyber security best practices technologies developing standards and procedures promoting the usage of automated tools developing strategies and aligning practices with enterprise strategic initiatives.
- Lead the development of technical artifacts including Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) Detailed Technical Design Security Architecture Plan Services Description Document etc.
- Produce architectural framework documents (i.e. white papers guidance documents best practices technical reports etc.).
- Project contributor representing architecture and participates in project plan development.
- Leverage broadbased understanding of technology areas and endtoend knowledge of current installations to craft architectural solutions or standards that can be applied across the enterprise.
- Define and build hypothesis around steady state behavior.
- Run experiments around real world events to define potential impact or estimate frequency.
- Build automation into systems to drive both orchestration and analysis.
- Provide support and subject matter expertise with respect to adherence to best practice security framework controls and other industrybased regulatory compliance requirements (e.g. NISTCIS PCI IRSPub 1075 CJIS and related).
- Assist with cloud infrastructure design and develop detailed architecture models for the client to host test development and production environments.
- Communicate complex technical concepts to individuals of various technical ability.
- Design and develop cloud cost management solutions
- Provide performance analysis & troubleshooting
- Design and test largescale workload and data migrations
- Provide direct support to technical and nontechnical entities to define requirements and deliver solutions to meet organizational needs including new environment deployment upgrades performance tuning testing and disaster recovery
- Integrate cloud services with onpremises technologies from Microsoft Dell EMC HP Nutanix Cohesity Pure Storage VMware Cisco and Rubrick.
