Reporting directly into the Head of Brand Content and Communications this role will be responsible for leading a global PR programme that supports John Cranes overall global business objective as well as the development and execution of a robust internal communications strategy.
The Key responsibilities are as follows
Internal Communications
- Plan a best practice Internal Communications strategy for John Crane in accordance with John Crane and Smiths Group policies and procedures with the aim of maximising employee engagement globally.
- Create a robust measurement framework for Internal Communications.
- Lead the execution of an inspiring annual internal communications calendar that reinforces key messages across John Cranes global business and helps to create an informed and engaged workforce.
- Manage workflow and output of the Internal Communications Specialist.
- Support the Divisional Management Boards with sensitive corporate communications.
External Communications
- Support the Brand Manager to develop brand product and vertical market communication messages with input from key stakeholders.
- Lead the planning of John Cranes social media communications calendar.
- Own and lead the PR agency relationship both UK and international. Develop and manage all media and public relations campaigns to strengthen the company brand perception.
- Own John Cranes investor relations process and content creation for Smiths Group Interim and Annual Results with John Crane CFO and Smiths Investor Relations functions including gathering input from various functions.
- Own John Cranes global government relations programmes supporting the Smiths Government Relations team and alignment to John Crane business objectives.
- Ensure there is robust measurement and reporting of all external communications.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Communications or related field of study required.
- 8 years communications experience in a global organisation or communications agency. Experience in industrials sector preferred but not required.
- Experience must include strategic communications planning and execution and media relations.
- Excellent writing ability with extensive experience in all forms of corporate and executive communication.
- Experience managing external agencies.
- Strong organisational skills adhering to deadlines and accuracy.
- Flexible selfstarter who can quickly manage priorities to meet the demands of the job and be comfortable in a fast paced matrix environment.
- Strong collaboration skills.
- Ability to seamlessly move from strategy to handson implementation.
- Ability to travel both domestically and internationally as required.
