Job Description

The Program Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for managing and driving the success of program initiatives. This role involves coordinating multiple projects within a program ensuring alignment with organizational goals and delivering results on time and within scope and budget.

This is an initial 6 month contract extendable up to 24 months.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of each project within the program.
  • Coordinate interdependencies across projects to maintain alignment and efficiency.
  • Facilitate program project and resource planning activities.
  • Ensure compliance with governance standards policies and practices as outlined by the PMO.
  • Act as the primary liaison with stakeholders ensuring clear communication and timely reporting.
  • Collaborate with project managers to guide the endtoend lifecycle of each project.
  • Develop strategies to ensure projects meet deadlines budgets and scope requirements.
  • Monitor and report on project performance and key metrics to maintain accountability.
  • Participate in vendor evaluation selection and contract negotiations.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of PMO processes and methodologies.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience:
    • At least 15 years of experience managing IT projects.
    • Proven ability to lead and manage project teams especially in a provincial government context.
  • Certifications:
    • Valid PMP Certification or Prince2 Practitioner Certification.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies.
    • Strong understanding of IT cybersecurity and their strategic applications in business.
  • Government Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with provincial government processes policies and procedures.
  • Key Competencies:
    • Exceptional strategic planning facilitation and negotiation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
    • Excellent leadership organizational and time management capabilities.
    • Effective interpersonal listening and conflict resolution skills.
    • Superior communication skills including oral written and presentation abilities.
