Job Description
Turner & Townsend is currently recruiting for a Project Director to join our Data Centre team.
With a market leading client base and the opportunity to take the lead on strategic commissions and highprofile projects this is an exciting time to join the business unit and grow a career with Turner & Townsend.
This role is client facing working within a professional and ambitious team where you will receive excellent support. We have brought our brightest minds together to respond to our clients Project and Programme management objectives working on a hyperscale project of 1 billion plus.
Responsibilities
As a Project Director you will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing largescale and complex data centre projects in the real estate sector from feasibility design construction and completion
- Developing and implementing project strategies plans and large scale budgets on complex construction projects
- Establishing and maintaining effective processes and systems to be utilised throughout the project
- Monitoring and reporting on project progress and other performance indicators
- Managing and mitigating risks and issues
- Preparing and delivering written project communication materials
- Preparing and presenting formal project progress and other reports
- Managing and coordinating the client contractors and designers
- Attending and chairing meetings and drafting minutes etc
- Other responsibilities to include:
- Developing and delivering presentation materials for client pitches etc
- Managing and updating key information into the Turner & Townsend internal database
- Providing thought leadership and insights on the latest trends and innovations in the Data Centre real estate sector
Qualifications :
- Minimum 12 years experience
- Relevant qualification (project management or construction management)
- Member of a chartered institute e.g. RICS / CIOB although not essential
- Good knowledge of construction industry and Data Centre sector themes
- Good knowledge of project lifecycle and business case approvals process
- Track record of delivering the construction of hyperscale Data Centre projects from inception to completion
- What experience we are looking for
- Extensive knowledge of and experience in large scale Data Centre projects in the real estate sector
- Experience of master planning/strategic estate development and capital project planning for business case compilation is desirable.
- Demonstrable experience in clientfacing roles at all levels
