Municipal Inspector - Wastewater Treatment

AECOM is searching for an Inspector for major municipal infrastructure projects.  This is a fulltime position based in Burnaby BC. Projects primarily consist of water and wastewater treatment plants.  The successful candidate will be assigned to a project based on their skillset and area of expertise.

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Liaison on site with contractor client other approving authorities including addressing resident concerns
• Oversee daily onsite operations
• Work closely with the Project Engineer and Project Manager to ensure construction is in compliance with project specifications
• Preparation and maintenance of daily work logs and other project documentation and reporting;
• Schedule and conduct regular project meetings with the contractor and client
• Provide clarification of drawings and direction to the contractor with remote support from the Project Engineer
• Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality performance specifications and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties.
• Carry out field inspections and communicating directly with construction team
• Carry out surveys and measurements for quantity calculations
• Complete surveys for the preparation of record drawings
• Participates in punch lists testing and commissioning.
• Assist with the preparation of the Project Construction Completion and Final Acceptance Certificate; and
• Training of entrylevel employees.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

• 6 years of relevant experience in a field role on water infrastructure projects or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
• Driving license and access to own vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.); Certified Technician (C.Tech) or in the process of obtaining certification
• Demonstrated experience with inspection of multiple trades including concrete construction electrical trade construction mechanicalpiping construction or combination thereof.
