Job Description
We are looking for a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT UT MT) for QA/QC assignment (inspection on fabrication of 2 steel beam spans)to work at our client site in Duncan BC.
The assignement would start on January 13 2025 until February 20 2025.
Scope of work includes:
- Visual Examination 100% of all welds.
- Radiograph Test Method / UT 100% of butt joint groove welds flange and web splices. For bottom flanges test to be carried out after heat treatment.
- Ultrasonic Test Method 100% at flange to bearing stiffeners.
- Magnetic Particle Test Method 50% of flange to web weld concentrated at the center half of the girders at every stop and start locations and repairs location.
- Turn of the nut method 100% sampling of installed bolts.
- Surface Finishes (Cleaning Galvanizing Metalizing).
Qualifications :
- Must be a Certified CGSB Level 2 Inspector (VT UT and MT).
- Minimum of 8 years of shop inspection experience (vendor surveillance).
- Ideal candidate would have Metallic Bridges and Structural experience.
- Must have inspection experience of steel beams/spans/girders fabrication at vendor shops.
- QA/QC experience on steel bridges & structures.
- Familiar with CN Railways Testing & Inspections requirements.
- Previous experience working on steel bridges for railways is needed.
- Detail oriented and well organized
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment as part of a team as well as independently
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.
- Pay range is $75 to $85/hour depending on experience plus mileage.
- Work schedule: 810 hours a day work is from January 13th until February 20 2025.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word Excel and Outlook.
