AVP Senior WaterWastewater Construction Manager

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated and experienced Water/Wastewater Construction Manager to join our expanding water engineering practice.  The selected candidate will become part of an established water engineering practice working on prominent wet weather remediation programs water and wastewater treatment sewer collection potable water distribution and storage and pumping station projects in the Greater Maryland Metropolitan area.

Responsibilities include:

Candidate will manage plan and lead construction management projects for sanitary sewer collection systems (including large diameter pipe) pumping stations lift stations force mains interceptors water distribution systems green infrastructure reservoirs as well as water/wastewater treatment plants.

Additional responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to those listed below:

• Monitors onsite construction activities including but not limited to the verification of: Materials and equipment on hand schedule invoices pertaining to materials progress of onsite construction work and completion dates.
• Coordinates with client Operations & Maintenance staff and other project stakeholders.
• Conducts job site meetings with the Contractor including weekly progress meetings quality scheduling and phasing payment and other coordination or field activities as they occur.
• Provides recommendations and documentation regarding: Contract disputes Schedule Variances Change Orders (CO) and Proposed Change Orders (PCO) Liquidated damages Engineer potential errors and omissions
• Participates in risk analyses identification and mitigation strategies.
• Reviews and provides input to client on the adequacy of Contractors personnel equipment materials and supplies.
• Receives tracks and monitors Contractors submittals and Requests for Information (RFIs) to and from responding parties using Document Management programs.  Reports submittal and RFI status to client.  Updates and maintains submittal and RFI Logs.
• Verifies and recommends approval of Contractors progress payments. Updates and maintains Payment Log.
• Monitors Contractors conformance with quality requirements.
• Coordinates with inspectors on the development of a list of deficiencies to determine Contractors compliance and completion of work.  Manages the correction of such deficiencies and maintains Deficiency Log.
• Prepares Monthly Progress Reports for clients regarding milestones and status of project.
• Reviews the Contractors Daily Reports for accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinates startup testing and commissioning of building systems with the commissioning agent.
• Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers enforces company and project policies maintains close client interface and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. 
• Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

• BA/BS in civil environmental engineering or related degree or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in water/wastewater industry with at least 3 years leading projects/programs.
• Demonstrated water/wastewater expertise with an aspect of construction management valued by clients and peers to position and/or deliver programs.
• Professional Engineers License.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineering License in the state of Maryland
• 15 years of related experience
• Experience with Baltimore Metropolitan Area Municipal Water/Wastewater clients
• Working knowledge of Federal State and local jurisdiction permitting regulations for water/wastewater
• Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite Sharepoint Unifier eBuilder CM14 and P6 Scheduling Software
