Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated geotechnical engineer to support mine tailings geotechnical and heavy civil infrastructure projects as part of the mining group to telecommute for our Denver CO. office.
Job Summary/ Responsibilities:
- Performs specific portions of broader projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer.
- Planning implementing and overseeing geotechnical exploration programs (30% travel/field time)
- Developing geotechnical laboratory testing assignments
- Performing geotechnical evaluations including material characterization liquefaction seepage slope stability and settlement analyses
- Preparing calculation packages
- Assisting with the development of geotechnical reports drawings and specifications
- Preparing and presenting technical presentations of evaluation results to internal team
- Review of geotechnical instrumentation and preparation of instrumentation monitoring reports
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements
- BA/BS 2 yrs of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- EIT Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Valid U.S. Drivers License
Preferred Qualifications
- MA/MS Civil Engineering with Geotechnical Emphasis
- 4 years of relevant experience
- Basic Knowledge of industry software such as GeoStudio Utexas Grapher and AutoCAD Civil3D
- Field/Construction experience; tailings or dams experience a plus
- Familiarity with design reports drawings and specifications
- Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate proactive problemsolving skills
- Ability to maintain organization in a changing environment
- Exhibits initiative responsibility and flexibility
- Resourceful highly organized and detail oriented
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines
- Effective timemanagement and interpersonal Skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
