Job Description
We are seeking a Managing Consultant or Director to join our Strategic Risk & Advisory team to help drive the growth of our practice across Middle East and North Africa. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial highly driven person with a wellrounded skill set to join the growing Strategic Risk & Advisory team within the Global Risk Investigations & Disputes (GRID) practice.
The ideal person for this role will need to not only have a strong grasp of the political economy of the Middle East and North Africa and a solid grasp of relevant sectoral knowledge but also be a flexible and strategic thinker able to take on a variety of tasks.
The Managing Consultant or Director will play a leading role in growing our client base in the Middle East and North Africa. They will support J.S. Helds clients operating in all parts of the region. The Managing Consultant or Director will be responsible for managing complex business intelligence and risk projects while also developing our highlevel government engagement and interventions work in the region.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage and conduct Middle East and North Africafocused business intelligence and risk projects.
- Develop and maintain a high level of regional country and sectoral expertise
- Support the growth of J.S. Helds client base in the region.
- Build and maintain trusted client relationships while effectively executing client account management plans.
- Plan manage and deliver complex reputational due diligence investigations.
- Proactively identify business development opportunities and work with senior colleagues to develop new client relationships.
- Support J.S. Helds marketing initiatives through for example the production of expert thought leadership.
- Network with key public sector stakeholders to build strong trusted relationships.
- Represent J.S. Held at relevant events and provide expert commentary to media outlets.
Qualifications :
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelors degree from a toptier university in a relevant discipline for example international relations with a masters degree preferred.
- Extensive experience in managing and conducting complex regionspecific business intelligence and risk projects with a strong emphasis on political analysis and stakeholder mapping.
- Strong knowledge of the continents political and commercial dynamics gained through relevant professional experience and/or having lived or worked in the region.
- Existing networks of public and private sector contacts in the Middle East and North Africa for example journalists government officials and business executives and a willingness to proactively expand these networks.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills particularly the ability to write clear and concise client briefings and reports to tight deadlines with minimal guidance.
- High levels of dynamism and proactivity with a cando selfstarter attitude.
- An ability to serve clients with the utmost discretion and diplomacy.
- Experience in business development with a genuine enthusiasm for growing J.S. Helds client base.
- Language skills beyond English an advantage namely Arabic and French.
Physical and Mental Job Qualifications
- Must be willing to travel internationally as needed (2025%)
