Job Description

Role purpose

  • Successfully manage the delivery and improvement of Payroll regionally working with dotted line responsibility for Payroll leads based in 36 countries and annual payroll costs of USD 920K
  • Manage relationships with 6 payroll providers in multiple countries.
  • Works closely with global payroll lead to ensure effective and efficient delivery of Global Payroll contract services
  • Monitor and review payroll performance across multiple HR Operations delivery models (i.e. includes Delivery Centre and Incountry operations) to resolve escalations and to proactively identify improvement opportunities
  • Partner with Global operations managers HR Heads and CoE for nominated business units for building sustaining and improving regional payroll capability and governance across country HR teams (process system operations) within Syngenta Global payroll framework

Accountabilities

  • Regional owner for payroll service domain across all 36 AMEA Countries which are serviced from 2 Delivery Centres and 3 Service Delivery Models
  • Direct line management responsibility for Payroll Specialists (2 FTE 1 NFTE)
  • Continually monitor payroll compliance across region working closely with global HR Operations where required for suggested improvements or escalations
  • Management and delivery of annual compensation cycle for region plus portfolio of payroll projects
  • Partner with Global HR operations to Implement based on global standards an effective payroll performance management process for payroll delivery quality taking into consideration client expectations and perceptions. Ensure strong feedback channels with country operations managers and vendors at regional level
  • Establish and build strong strategic partnerships with key HR Operations partners
  • Ensure payroll compliance with internal and external compliance requirements
  • Propose and obtain sign off to the development & deployment of new or improved offerings processes policies and functions in Payroll  
  • Leads analysis of volumes trends and issues to proactively identify service improvements across regional HR Operations
  • Responds to service escalations and plays an active role in resolution and closure
  • Management of payroll Change Requests
  • Partner with Centres of Expertise and Business Process Owner on development implementation extension improvement and deployment of global services
  • Any other activities that ensure successful completion of activities across the team

Qualifications :

Knowledge experience & capabilities

Critical knowledge

  • Service management of payroll providers across multiple countries and vendors
  • Subject matter expertise on payroll systems and processes
  • Change Management & Customer Experience methodologies (LEAN 6 Sigma CX)
  • Knowledge of Service levels and key metrics used to drive performance improvement
  • Confident subject matter expert on the HR service delivery models payroll processes business processes and operations technologies

Critical experience (10 years plus)

  • Deep HR Payroll experience including working with outsourced partners across processes and systems
  • International payroll implementation and governance experience
  • Customer service delivery against specific requirements and timelines
  • Strong examples of work experience in a major global organization preferably in HR Operations & Payroll managing delivery across multiple countries multiregion experience

Critical technical professional and personal capabilities

  • HR qualification or substantial experience in HR related roles with a Bachelors degree preferably with a major in Human Resource Management or associated field
  • Ability to be sensitive to regional and cultural differences while driving change implementation
  • Ability to communicate clearly both written and orally in English at all levels of the organization especially with senior members of the HR function and business leaders any additional language a plus
  • Proven analytical /conceptual thinking skills
  • Selfdriven problemsolver who can identify issues and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Project Planning & previous experience working within large cross boundary project teams
  • Ability to prioritize and plan work activities independently
  • Knowledge of HR Systems Workday knowledge desirable
  • High Level of Interpersonal and Communication skills
  • Fluent in English
