Job Description

We are seeking a selfmotivated person with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude to join our Ontario Sales team in the Mississauga office in promoting and providing customized solutions and services to our customers. 

Reporting to the Regional Sales Manager the successful candidate will promote the advantages of using steel joists girders and deck systems to both new and existing customers throughout the Ontario Region.  

Essential functions:

  • Conduct sales and business development activities consistent with the corporate mission values and departmental financial objectives;
  • Demonstrate an energetic and enthusiastic approach to customer service balanced with strong negotiation and decisionmaking abilities;
  • Negotiate interpret and explain proposals and contractual agreements to customers;
  • Attend and participate in construction industry conferences seminars trade shows and various networking events;
  • Develop and sustain a strong network of contacts within the building construction industry;
  • Travel to customer locations to maintain and build on business relationships.

Qualifications :

  • Postsecondary education in business or civil engineering technology;
  • Sales experience in the construction manufacturing or technical sales sector;
  • Effective planning and time management skills;
  • Ability to read construction drawings specifications proposals and experience with related software; 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite/Google Workspace and CRM platform;
  • Ability to travel within the Ontario sales region;
  • Priority will be given to those applicants who have previously applied these skills in the structural steel industry;
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada currently.


Additional Information :

Work environment:
Working safely is a condition of employment at Canam. The role involves a general office setting and constant exposure to computer display. Safety PPE (personal protective equipment) must be worn while onsite (steeltoed safety boots safety glasses etc.) Daily interactions include engaging with construction site personnel managers and other team members.
