Job Description

Roles and responsibilities


Supervisor and coordinate all activities of fire and safe by evaluating, interpreting and applying laws across fire life safety across HMG and ensure to enforce fire prevention regulations and all activities are carried out in accordance with relevant instructions and applicable law and regulations.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Support the development and implementation of fire safety inspection program and perform related functions.
  • Evaluate and test the fire detection equipment and alarm systems to ensure prevention of fire accidents.
  • Develop different plans for prevent destruction of property by fire, wind and water.
  • Ensures compliance with code and best practices regarding Fire and Life Safety and work with various stakeholders to track and address identified issues.
  • Identify corrective actions needed to ensure compliance with applicable fire codes, laws, regulations, and standards; and works with other staff to implement necessary actions.
  • Provide support to engineering team on reviewing plans and specifications of proposed buildings and building modifications for adherence to fire safety laws and codes.
  • Develop and/or review fire exit plans; conduct fire drills to evaluate and improve evacuation procedures.
  • Maintain records and prepare reports which summarize the results of inspections conducted on facilities, equipment, and systems and include findings/recommendations; prepare statistical reports as required.
  • Evaluate the performance of the fire section and fire prevention laws and regulations.
  • Check inventory records, hydrants and other equipment and maintenance.
  • Ensure awareness through fire life safety education and training programs; evaluate training needs; develop materials and provide FLS training to staff.
  • Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
  • Enrich patient experience with compassion, respect and dignity.
  • Perform all other tasks/duties assigned within the realm of his/her knowledge, skills and abilities.

Desired candidate profile

  • Fire Safety Management:

    • Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive fire safety programs and emergency response plans.
    • Conduct fire risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures.
    • Oversee the maintenance and testing of fire protection systems (e.g., fire alarms, extinguishers, sprinkler systems) and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
    • Monitor fire drills, ensuring that employees are trained and prepared for emergencies.
  • Life Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure that all fire and life safety protocols comply with national, state, and local regulations (e.g., OSHA, NFPA standards).
    • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and fire departments to stay up-to-date with fire and safety regulations and codes.
    • Implement and manage safety programs, including evacuation plans, fire safety training, and hazard identification.
  • Emergency Response Planning:

    • Lead the development of emergency response plans for fires and other life-threatening situations (e.g., natural disasters, active shooter incidents).
    • Coordinate emergency drills, ensuring the organization practices evacuation procedures and staff knows their roles in case of emergency.
    • Supervise the response to fire and life safety emergencies and ensure timely coordination with emergency services.
  • Training & Awareness:

    • Provide ongoing training for employees on fire safety practices, emergency procedures, and use of fire safety equipment.
    • Promote a culture of safety and risk awareness throughout the organization.
    • Ensure that safety procedures are communicated effectively to all staff, contractors, and visitors.
  • Risk Management & Incident Investigation:

    • Investigate any fire-related incidents, accidents, or near misses to determine their causes and implement corrective actions.
    • Conduct post-incident reviews and recommend improvements to safety protocols and infrastructure.
    • Analyze fire safety data to identify trends, potential risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Fire Safety Equipment & Facilities Oversight:

    • Manage the procurement, installation, and maintenance of fire safety equipment and systems.
    • Ensure that fire exits, alarms, extinguishers, sprinklers, and other safety equipment are in working condition and easily accessible.
    • Oversee inspections of fire prevention systems and infrastructure, ensuring they meet all required standards.
