Position Overview
Veolia is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead the assembly operations for water filtration membrane equipment and mobile systems at our Norfolk VA plant.
This role is critical to our growth strategy requiring a senior leader with a proven track record in manufacturing excellence process optimization and team leadership.
The Assembly Operation Leader will be instrumental in taking our assembly site to the next level in terms of operational efficiency quality cost management and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership : Develop and implement an assembly strategy that aligns with company goals ensuring continuous improvement in organizational structure quality standards cost control and ontime delivery.
Operational Excellence : Drive KPIs for assembly including safety sustainability financial performance and operational efficiency. Implement and monitor key metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
Process Optimization : Characterize improve and develop manufacturing processes for both existing and new products ensuring a seamless transition from inputs to outputs. Utilize Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma and other industry best practices to streamline operations and reduce waste.
Team Development : Lead mentor and develop a highperforming assembly team. Foster a culture of collaboration accountability and continuous learning.
Stakeholder Collaboration : Effectively interface with crossfunctional teams including
manufacturing technology quality maintenance sales and marketing. Ensure alignment of efforts to meet EHS quality cost savings production and new product development goals within the established schedule and budget.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement : Bring new ideas and provide positive support to evaluate and improve current processes. Drive the adoption of innovative practices and
technologies to enhance assembly operations.
Risk Management : Identify potential risks within the assembly process and implement
strategies to mitigate them. Ensure compliance with all regulatory and company standards particularly in safety and environmental health.
Resource Planning : Oversee resource allocation including budgeting staffing and material procurement to ensure assembly operations are adequately supported and able to meet production demands.
Qualifications :
Qualifications
Experience : Minimum of 710 years of leadership experience in manufacturing with a strong background in assembly operations. Experience in the water filtration or similar industry is a plus.
Education : Bachelors Degree in Chemical Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution. An advanced degree (e.g. MBA Masters in Engineering) is highly desirable.
Technical Expertise : Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt
preferred) and statistical analysis tools for process improvement. SAP experience is highly
preferred.
Leadership Skills : Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams drive change and deliver results in a fastpaced manufacturing environment. Strong organizational and time management skills.
Communication : Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences including senior management and frontline workers.
Problem Solving : Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify root causes develop
solutions and implement them effectively.
Autonomy : Ability to work independently with minimal supervision taking initiative to drive
projects and improvements forward.
