Job Summary: The American Autism & Rehabilitation Center (AARC) is currently seeking to add a Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA) to our team. The primary function of the BCBA is to plan develop and monitor a variety of behavioral support service delivery options to meet the needs of clients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and/or other behavioral and social/communication challenges. The BCBA will work directly with our Director of ABA and also consults with the interdisciplinary team of speech therapists occupational therapists physical therapists and teaches instructional team members regarding proactive educational programming and behavioral supports; develops and implements comprehensive treatment plans; and collaborates with team members related services providers families and other agencies as appropriate.

In this role the BCBA will assist with the development and expansion of our ABA program. The BCBA will maintain a caseload (approximately 30 hours) which consists of working directly with children and families; however a portion of time will be allocated to leadership and management activities. We are currently transitioning to a hybrid model to provide accessible and effective behavior analysis services through a combination of telehealth and inclinic sessions. Our clinic operates Monday Thursday from 8 am 6pm.

The BCBA is responsible for collaborating with the AARC leadership team to promote onboarding of new employees monitoring and implementation of programs including knowledge and familiarity with billing and reimbursement. This position is also responsible for developing supervising and cultivating a growing team of Registered Behavior Therapists (RBTs).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers conducts evaluates and supervises the implementation of behavioral assessment measures (e.g. VBMAPP Vineland) and functional assessment measures to develop and implement teaching programs that reflect behavioral and other outcomes and objectives identified as priorities by standardized assessments and family centered goals.
  • Develops individualized goals and objectives for home community and centerbased programs and designs behavior support plans based on functional assessment data
  • Ensures appropriate behavioral data systems are implemented such that quantifiable behavioral data is collected at regular intervals to allow for the continual evaluation of behavior plans and the achievement of individual goals and objectives
  • Provide training and supervision of RBTs and instructional aides through observations meetings and performance coaching and other methods.
  • Conducts regular caregiver and/or teacher training and consultation
  • Completes all necessary documentation in a timely and satisfactory manner. Ensures that all treatment plans and programs comply with contract requirements satisfy all relevant insurance certification and other expectations and meet or exceed professional standards. Maintain highly organized consistent thorough and systematic recordkeeping practices.
  • Assists with the scheduling of RBTs as needed and ensure proper billing entry as required
  • Maintains billable caseload and documents billable hours according to state and federal regulation
  • Develops written reports documenting behavioral recommendations for parents caregivers and agency personnel in a timely and accurate manner
  • Coordinate with each family and the AARC leadership team to complete appropriate recruiting selection training and retention of trainers and instructional aides.
  • Provide staff development training and modeling for team members in strategies and methodologies for working with children on the autism spectrum and/or clients who have behavioral adaptive and/or social/communication challenges.
  • Conduct inservice training workshops and presentations to develop skills and establish consistent practices across AARCs programs of service.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Masters in behavior analysis BCBA Supervisory Psychology special education social work speech language pathology or related field required
  • BCBA certification and/or licensed professional
  • 1 2 years experience working with the design and implementation of treatment programs and some experience in supervision and training of staff serving individuals with ASDs with a full range of skills and abilities
  • Experience with budgetary and programmatic decisionmaking
  • Strong leadership and organization skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with staff training and supervision
  • Must be proficient with ABA Program/Goal Development ABA Behavior Reduction and Skills
  • Must have excellent writing and communication skills be highly organized with the ability to multitask
  • Must be able to work well as part of an interdisciplinary team
