The Middleware Administrator IBM MQ position requires selfmotivation and technical proficiency in the administration and configuration of IBM Messaging systems including effective troubleshooting abilities. This position is focused on providing administration of IBM Messaging systems and support to the designated application technology stack using IBM MQ to ensure maximum uptime for Production Systems. Overall responsible for performance availability and scalability of the infrastructure.
We are looking for a Middleware Administrator with 812 years experience supporting Middleware technologies IBM on Unix and Windows operating systems. The candidate must demonstrate solid experience with system administration change management user management and software logistics to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the supported environment. The candidate should be able to provide SME level of support to 1st level Administrators within the team.
The job includes working with the various technology teams developers vendors and management of new landscape setup. The Engineer will be responsible for the administration installation configuration of IBM MQ on standalone and clustered environment for multiple clients.
Technical Expertise required:
IBM MQ Administration 812 Years
Must have Good experience on Administration and Troubleshooting of IBM MQ File Transactions required knowledge on Control M batch processing
Good Exposure on Applying Security Layers between MQ Queue Managers and Agents
Require good experience on Deploying Bar files / IIB / PubSub / Applying security
Scripting knowledge is required
Understanding of queues FTP SFTP HTTP protocols Debug flows
Knowledge on mqsi commands on IIB
Good knowledge in the Midrange environment especially in Linux (RHEL)
Knowledge in Shell Python Scripting and Web Technologies gives an added advantage
Knowledge of MQ Clustering & Troubleshooting.
SSL Configuration.
Experience with any MQ Monitoring tools
Basic Scripting
Capacity Analysis required for a senior level
Knowledge of RDQM
Knowledge on MQ in cloud
Experience in Pub/sub process triggers in MQ.
Experience and Key Responsibilities:
Modify/redesign configuration/applications to resolve identified issues.
Manage configure and monitor MQ Listeners Command Servers Channel initiators Trigger Monitors MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues
Setup of IBM Websphere MQ in a cluster environment for both load balancing and Failover.
IBM Websphere MQ best practices for setup/monitoring as well as usage.
Provide impact analysis of newer versions and provide upgrade paths and plan and upgrade servers with the appropriate versions and patches of IBM Websphere MQ
Setup security on the Websphere MQ servers as well as the queues and applications that access Websphere MQ.
Seven (10) years of WebSphere MQ Administration experience (V6.2 & above) on UNIX platforms.
Experience in the IBM PMR problem determination and troubleshooting process.
Experience with in product & Fixpack installations and version upgrades of WebSphere MQ.
Should be strong in using MQSC and PCF commands.
Should be strong in Distributed Queue Management.
Should be strong in MQ channel configuration using different transmission protocols.
Should have experience with MQ Clusters.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills system and performance tuning skills.
Should be able to manage configure and monitor MQ Listeners Command Servers Channel initiators Trigger Monitors MQ Log files & Dead Letter Queues.
Should be strong with MQ Client applications & MQ client configuration.
Able to setup security for WebSphere MQ queues & other objects for data access and for administration using rolebased security.
Proficient in SSL Configuration on WebSphere MQ.
Must be proficient in the writing/editing of UNIX shell scripts.
Must be able to work/provide offhours oncall support as a member of a rotational support team.
Must Have:
WMB 677.5 in linuxAIX Zoswindows servers
Able to trouble shoot customer reported MQ issues
Work under pressure on incident bridges
Shift work (we work 3 9 hours shifts and must be flexible to work any shift)
Must be willing to work on call schedule
Must be fluent in spoken and written English

Should be ready to work during weekend (SAT and SUN)
Capable of handling escalation independently.
