About the role: We are seeking a skilled and detailoriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role you will be responsible for setting up operating and maintaining press brake equipment used to form sheet metal components for electrical transformers. Your work will be integral to ensuring product quality and meeting production goals in a fastpaced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines in accordance with production specifications.
- Adjust machine settings for different metal thicknesses bends and dimensions.
- Select and position dies punches and tools for the job.
- Interpret blueprints work orders and engineering drawings to produce precise components.
- Make necessary calculations for bending allowances and material specifications.
- Perform regular maintenance to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical or operational issues escalating major concerns.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is a plus but not required
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and meet deadlines
Physical and Environmental Requirements
- Lifting: Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
- Environment: Work in a facility with loud noise extreme temperatures and environmental stressors.
- Physical Activities: Sit stand walk bend climb crouch reach and grasp as needed.
- PPE: Wear the required PPE including eye and hearing protection gloves and safety toe footwear.
- Dexterity and Vision: Manual dexterity and specific vision abilities (close distance color peripheral depth perception and focus adjustment).
- Stamina: Stand for long shifts.
- Skills: Effective communication basic math skills and teamwork.
- Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and address hazards.
