Job Description

The Associate Counsel of Business & Legal Affairs position is an attorney position and will be responsible for supporting the Sr. Counsel Business & Legal Affairs of Telemundo Network and other attorneys in the department.


Job Duties:

  • Under supervision of a senior attorney draft review negotiate and interpret an extensive range of agreements including but not limited to sponsorship collaboration event organization licensing influencers talent technology services and procurementrelated agreements.
  • Serve as a dedicated legal support for internal client groups as assign and liaising with other internal business units primarily on entertainment and mediarelated matters including intellectual property rights content clearance trademark licensing publicity and privacy rights business and nonprofit organizations partnerships public relations matters and occasionally liaising with news sports scripted unscripted compliance and other internal departments.
  • Manage legal issues for internal client groups including but not limited to drafting rules for productions events and facilities services conducting necessary presentations and trainings performing risk assessments on different legal matters.
  • Create deal summaries maintain and administer daytoday contractual and operational matters including preparation letters and memoranda to internal and external clients and presentations to seniorlevel management and help maintain the infrastructure records and internal systems of the Business & Legal Affairs department in compliance with internal policies.
  • Provide general legal advice and support to the business.
  • Updating form contracts to reflect current practices and policies.
  • Generally support the other attorneys in the Business & Legal Affairs department.

Qualifications :

Basic Requirements: 

  • JD degree and US bar membership.
  • 2 years of relevant experience as an attorney in a law firm specializing in entertainment law or a business/legal affairs position at a television network or a company in the entertainment or media industry strongly preferred.
  • Superior communication interpersonal drafting analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills. Fully bilingual and able to conduct business and analyze legal matters in Spanish and English.
  • Proficient in Outlook including Calendar Contacts.
  • Proficient in Word PowerPoint and Excel.

Additional Requirements: 

  • This position has been designated as hybrid generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
  • Willingness to travel with short notice and on weekends.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including late and/or lastminute scheduling changes in a 24/7 production work environment.
  • Must be willing to work in the greater Miami Florida area.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.
