You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our enterprise IT department inPlano TX. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing implementing and managing our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud architecture security and best practices to ensure the reliability scalability and performance of our cloudbased systems.
They will work in a fastpaced environment and must be adaptable to the many changing processes and technologies related to the various IT systems.
Responsibilities:
Design deploy and manage GCP infrastructure and services.
Compute Engine Cloud Storage VPC Networks
Thorough understanding of Google infrastructure and networking
Thorough understanding of GKE design operations and troubleshooting
Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration of applications with GKE.
Collaborate on cloud security measures including identity and access management encryption and network security.
Monitor and optimize cloud performance cost and scalability.
Automate cloud operations using tools such as Terraform Ansible or similar.
Troubleshoot and resolve cloudrelated issues and incidents.
Stay uptodate with the latest GCP features services and best practices.
Provide technical guidance and support to other IT team members.
Develop and maintain documentation for cloud infrastructure and processes.
Qualifications :
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or a related field.
5 years of experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
5 years of experience working with GKE
Strong knowledge of GKE and integration with development teams
Strong knowledge of GCP services such as Compute Engine Cloud Storage BigQuery Cloud Functions.
Experience with infrastructureascode tools like Terraform or Ansible.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Bash or PowerShell.
Ability to use GitOps principles for all codebased infrastructure.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and tools like Bitbucket Jenkins.
Understanding cloud security best practices compliance requirements and IAC practices.
Excellent problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Additional Technical Qualifications:
Proficiency in managing and optimizing GCP networking components such as VPC Cloud Load Balancing and Cloud CDN.
Familiarity with serverless computing and eventdriven architectures using GCP services like Cloud Run and Cloud Pub/Sub.
Certification and handson experience with monitoring and logging tool DataDog
Understanding of DevOps DevSecOps practices and integrating security into CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of Google Backup disaster recovery and business continuity planning in a cloud environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Professional Data Engineer certification.
Experience with GCP Cloud databases: Spanner AlloyDB Cloud SQL and Bigtable BigQuery.
**This jobrequires work to be done outside of normal working hours including occasionally weeknights and weekends.
