About the Job
We are seeking a Structural Engineer (PE) with recent experience in forensic investigations and structural design to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for performing forensic investigations on both commercial and residential structures. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to produce detailed technical reports conduct site inspections and provide expert assessments. Key Responsibilities
- Perform forensic investigations on both commercial and residential structures to determine the cause of failure or damage.
- Compile write and edit comprehensive technical reports feasibility reports letters memos and specifications for structural projects.
- Conduct onsite inspections of building envelopes roofs moisture damage and other structural components to assess their condition.
- Work independently as well as collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including architects engineers contractors and property managers to deliver accurate findings and solutions.
- Evaluate and analyze structural damage failure mechanisms and potential safety hazards in buildings.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations to clients based on forensic findings including repair or mitigation strategies.
- Communicate findings effectively with clients stakeholders and other professionals involved in the project.
- Ensure that all investigations and reports comply with relevant codes standards and regulations.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Support project management and budgeting by providing cost estimates for repairs or improvements based on forensic analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or a similar program from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in buildingrelated forensic inspections and structural analysis.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Wisconsin is required.
- Experience in evaluating commercial and residential building materials systems and assemblies with a strong understanding of structural components.
- Strong problemsolving abilities with creativity and attention to detail in analyzing complex structural issues.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to prepare clear concise and technically accurate reports letters and specifications.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with architects engineers contractors and insurance professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of industry codes standards and regulations governing forensic investigations and structural design.
- Ability to travel for site visits and inspections as required.
