Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Transportation and Logistics the role of the Fleet Manager is to oversee the management maintenance and renewal of the growing transportation fleet consisting of over 85 units spread across two terminals in Canada.

Key Functions and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the preventive maintenance schedule
  • Handle mechanical breakdowns on the road
  • Ensure all equipment complies with regulations set by Canadian and U.S. government authorities
  • Oversee service agreements and pricing negotiations with suppliers
  • Review equipment specifications with manufacturers and implement new technologies to enhance efficiency productivity and fleet safety
  • Manage warranties and claims with suppliers
  • Handle leasing agreements and establish secure infrastructure in all terminals
  • Monitor the maintenance budget
  • Develop maintenance strategies aligned with the companys growth objectives
  • Implement the fleets energy transition strategy
  • Oversee inventory of parts tires and consumables
  • Organize the sale of endoflife equipment

Qualifications :

  • 3 years of experience in managing a Class 8 truck fleet
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with fleet management software and telematics tools
  • Familiarity with Law 430 and FMCSA regulations in the United States
  • Strong interest in alternative energy technologies (EV natural gas hydrogen)
  • Fluency in both oral and written English and French  (English is essential for serving our U.S.based clients)
  • Excellent ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively
  • Ability to work in a fastpaced environment and adapt quickly to change
  • Strong communication skills
  • Team player and resultsoriented
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time annually
  • Experience with flatbed dump and tanker trailers (asset)
  • Class 1 drivers license and truck driving experience (asset)
