Sous Chef

Salary: £36000 £40000 annually (Plus £10k Tronc)
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in the management of the kitchen ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications maintaining consistency and taste.
- Supervise kitchen staff providing training and guidance as needed to improve skills.
- Ensure all food safety and sanitation standards are met in accordance with health regulations.
- Participate in menu planning and the development of new recipes contributing creative input.
- Help with inventory management including ordering and monitoring stock levels to reduce waste.
- Assist with the maintenance of kitchen equipment and report any issues to the Head Chef.
- Handle special dietary needs and preferences ensuring all guests are accommodated.
- Contribute to a positive work environment promoting teamwork and effective communication.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and kitchen equipment.
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Ability to follow and create recipes maintaining consistency in cooking.
Desired Experience:
- Previous experience in a Sous Chef or similar role in a fastpaced kitchen environment.
- Demonstrated experience managing kitchen staff and training cooks.
- Experience with menu development and culinary planning is a plus.
