RQ08334 - Technology Architect - Senior

Responsibilities:

• Develops recommends implements and manages the technical architecture (hardware software database and communications) which will be used for all or specific applications in a large distributed crossplatform environment.
  
• Responsibilities also include the identification of relevant information and the determination of the environment which will be used for development.
  

General Skills:

• Leadership experience in the development and implementation of technical architectures at the specified experience level
  
• Extensive experience with at least three different platforms operating systems environments database technologies and communications protocols
  
• Experience with middleware and gateways Knowledge of performance considerations in different environments
  
• Experience in structured methodologies for the design development and implementation of applications
  
• Extensive experience in systems analysis and design in large systems environments
  
• Knowledge and experience designing processes around ITIL and is able to guide others using this methodology
  
• Experience translating business requirements into reporting needs
  
• Experience preparing conceptual logical and/or physical processes and data models
  
• Experience developing recommending implementing and managing technical architecture
  
• Experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools and other software tools such as project management tools Awareness of emerging technologies trends and directions

• A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models)

• Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Content Management (Open Text ECM applications)
  
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles concepts policies and practices
  

Requirements

Experience and Skill Set Requirements:

Must Haves:

• Experience with OPS Architecture review process
  
• Experience with Service Ontario Driver services
  
• Solid Experience with cloud platforms
  
• Oracle database experience
  

Nice to Have:

• Previous Public Sector experience is an asset.
  

Skill Set Requirements:

• At least 7 years of data engineering experience of which 4 years of Azure Data Factory / Azure Databricks experience
  
• Good understanding of modern data platforms including data lakes and data warehouse with good knowledge of the underlying architecture preferably in Azure
  
• Proven experience in assembling large complex sets of data that meets nonfunctional and functional business requirements.
  
• Advanced skills in Python and SQL for data manipulation analysis and automation.
  
• Working experience of performance tuning and optimization bottleneck problems analysis and troubleshoot skills.
  
• Understanding of data governance principles data quality management and regulatory compliance.
  
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to understanding data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  

Requirements/Hands on experience:

• Advanced skills in Python and SQL for data manipulation analysis and automation.
  
• Working experience of scripting data science and analytics (SQL Python with library eg. Panda PowerShell)
  
• Expertise in designing data table structures reports and queries.
  
• Working knowledge data pipeline and CI/CD
  
• Working experience of design and implement robust data pipelines to ingest process and store large volumes of data from various sources
  
• Preferred Tools: Microsoft Azure Data Factory Databrick Fabric Business Intelligence ETL Power BI SSIS Oracle Data Integrator
  

Cloud Knowledge and Experience:

• Demonstrated experience enabling and designing the Government of Ontarios clouds Azure AWS IBM Oracle and Google clouds. This experience would need be with Cloud environments that are of the same scale as the Government of Ontario Cloud or BPS environments.
  

Communications and Customer Service:

• Demonstrated experience of working with customers/key stakeholders and using communication skills to resolve operational issues negotiate or document process related intelligence.
  

Analysis and ProblemSolving:

• Demonstrated experience with troubleshooting and resolving Azure/AWS/IBM/GCP/Oracle Cloud environments incidents and working with vendor partners.
