Lead Cobol Developer Contract

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead COBOL Developer and Technical Consultant to join our team. In this critical role you will provide our clients with handson coding expertise technical guidance and support ensuring their COBOL applications optimal performance and reliability.

As a Lead COBOL Developer you will be responsible for providing expert advice and recommendations on COBOL development best practices performance optimisation and modernisation strategies. You will diagnose and resolve complex technical issues collaborating with clients to identify effective solutions. You will also lead and contribute to COBOL development projects ensuring timely and highquality deliverables. Additionally you will share your knowledge and expertise with clients through training sessions documentation and mentoring. Finally you will stay uptodate on the latest trends and technologies in the COBOL landscape.

Qualifications :

• Experience as a Senior / Lead Developer
• Core COBOL: Strong proficiency in COBOL programming including syntax data structures and file handling
• Mainframe Technologies: Extensive experience with mainframe environments (z/OS) JCL VSAM CICS and PL/I
• Database Management: Solid understanding of database concepts SQL IDMS and IBM Db2
• Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. REXX Python)
• Problemsolving: Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively both independently and in collaborative teams
• Clientfacing: Strong clientfacing skills and ability to build rapport
