Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to join our team in the Material Handling Equipment (MHE) industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing implementing and optimizing conveyor systems sorters and overall system functionality. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles project management and the ability to lead crossfunctional teams to deliver highquality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and Development:
- Lead the design and development of conveyor systems sorters and other MHE components.
- Ensure designs meet industry standards safety regulations and client specifications.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed mechanical drawings and specifications.
- Project Management:
- Manage multiple projects from conception to completion ensuring timely delivery within budget.
- Develop project plans schedules and budgets and monitor progress against these plans.
- Coordinate with clients vendors and internal teams to ensure project requirements are met.
- System Functionality:
- Conduct system functionality assessments to ensure optimal performance of MHE systems.
- Identify and resolve issues related to system integration performance and reliability.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and other team members.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends technologies and best practices.
- Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for new projects and technologies.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation including design specifications test plans and progress reports.
- Present project updates and technical findings to stakeholders and senior management.
Qualifications :
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical engineering with a focus on MHE systems.
- Proven experience in designing and implementing conveyor systems and sorters.
- Strong project management skills with experience leading crossfunctional teams.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g. AutoCAD SolidWorks) and other engineering tools.
- Excellent problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with automation and control systems.
- Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations.
- Certification in Project Management (e.g. PMP) is a plus.
