Junior Sous Chef Lunch

A Jr. Sous Chef must also be able to give orders within their section as well as reliably carry out orders handed down to them by the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef. A successful Jr. Sous Chef is accepting of constructive criticisms and has a desire to grow ones culinary and professional skill set and that of their team. 

• Oversee the preparation and cooking of food at The Restaurant at JUSTIN
• Work in all stations for lunch service manage daily kitchen prep work and station setup before service and maintain the highest quality food preparation standards
• Prepare cook and present culinary dishes; enforce strict health and hygiene standards in the kitchen; and troubleshoot any problems that may arise
• Communicate with The Farmstead with regards to needed products
• Support teammates in managing their time prep and mentoring the quality and efficiency of work
• Support the ordering and inventory control and ensuring that needed ingredients are ordered
• Train lowerlevel staff in their department and holding them accountable
• Maintain organization of walkins dry storage and other kitchen storage areas
• Work with the Chef and Chef de Cuisine to create seasonalappropriate dishes
• Support the Restaurant with prep & execution of Events and Lunch

Qualifications :

• 2 years fine dining culinary experience
• Previous experience training and mentoring staff
• Exceptional attention to detail and passionate about food and wine
• Culinary Degree recommended
• ServSafe Certified
• Demonstrated strong ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to establish direction obtain commitment and execute appropriate logistical processes
• Comfortable dealing with guests and purveyors on a daily basis
• Must thrive in a fastpaced working environment
• Have a calm and approachable demeanor
• Superb time management and organizational skills

Pay Range: $26.00 $29.00 an hour. Final compensation will be dependent upon skills & experience.
