Job Description
Receive and serve food and beverage orders from guests. May also be responsible for collecting payment and making change for guest checks.
- Complete knowledge of all food and beverage menu items and daily specials.
- Responsible for coordinating service for the entire team including timing of meal and overall customer satisfaction.
- Communicates with the Host to determine special needs/requirements of guests prior to seating.
- Provides initial greeting to the guests and the introduction to other members of their Serving Team.
- Demonstrate outstanding communication skills and is able to memorize scripted presentations including the rooms basic concept and tour through the Food and Beverage menus.
- Take guests beverage orders while suggesting and upselling cocktails wine and beet offerings to exceed our guest expectations.
- Order and deliver beverages.
- Review the menu offerings including all specials suggesting and upselling to enhance guest satisfaction while accurately recording guest orders.
- Place orders communicating special needs to back Waiter/Asst. Food Specialist.
- Ensure proper delivery of all courses and guest satisfaction throughout the meal.
- Continue to sell beverages and menu items including dessert while maintaining the table.
- Present guest check at the end of the meal ensuring settlement of the bill.
- Thank guests as they depart per scripted requirements.
- Assist the team in the clearing and resetting of tables.
- Communicate guest dining preferences to the host team to record for guest history.
- Any other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
- One (1) year of food and beverage experience preferably in a fine dining restaurant.
- Working knowledge of good specialty or cuisine and service standards in specific restaurants.
- Must be able to stand and walk for majority of shift.
- Must be able to lift and carry trays weighing approximately 40 pounds.
- Must have excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Must be able to utilize computer systems for placing food and beverage order and processing payments.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any necessary licenses and/or certifications.
