The New York City Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) invests in a network of communitybased organizations and programs to alleviate the effects of poverty and to provide opportunities for New Yorkers and communities to flourish.
The Research Analyst will be responsible for supporting the integrity of DYCD programs and contracted Community Based Organizations administered by the Department of Youth and Community Development. The Research Analyst will be responsible for:
Manage the data manipulation of large data files extracted from various database and export data into reports and spreadsheets that can be analyzed and used for decision making.
Prepare complex reports summarizing research findings with recommendations for improvement. Implement research projects to improve services provided.
Make presentations to convey results to participating parties.
Maintain daily communication with the Agency Chief Contracting Officer (ACCO) on the status of ongoing projects and new initiatives as well as report updates and findings. Make recommendations when required.
Provide project coordination and research assistance to maintain working relationships with DYCD program unit and City Oversight agencies
Prepare detailed written and statistical reports for the ACCO including but not limited to statistics on vendors performance across DYCD program areas cautions and negative findings as it relates to a vendors ability to receive a City contract
Utilize program and administrative data to develop report indicators that measure administrative efficiencies and program outcomes. Assist in the preparation of materials for special or ad hoc projects and requests including independent research and analyses
Qualifications :
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and six months of satisfactory fulltime experience in research which involves gathering organizing and analyzing data and report writing; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college or completion of 60 semester credits at an accredited college and two years and six months of satisfactory fulltime experience in research which involves gathering organizing and analyzing data and report writing; or
3. A fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent and four years and six months of satisfactory fulltime experience in research which involves gathering organizing and analyzing data and report writing; or
4. Education and experience equivalent to 1 2 or 3 above. Undergraduate college credit can be substituted for experience on the basis of 30 semester credits from an accredited college for one year of fulltime experience. Completion of nine credits at the college or graduate school level in statistics quantitative methods mathematics or research can be substituted for six months of the required experience. However all candidates must possess a fouryear high school diploma or its educational equivalent and at least six months of required experience or the nine specialized credits.
