The Citywide Concrete Unit supports the agencys goal to enhance rehabilitate and maintain the Citys infrastructure by acting as the agencys primary construction unit. We employ dedicated engineers managers support staff laborers and adopt costsavings and efficiency while maintaining the highest standards of excellence and service to safety and quality.
The selected candidate will supervise the Supervisor Highway Repairers laborers and administrative staff assigned to the SIM/ CWC Operations including but not limited to the pedestrian ramp installation and upgrade and safety improvement projects; Candidate will monitor inventory; and ensure vehicles and equipment are operational. Attend meetings prepare weekly reports and monitor overtime projects. Provide updates to the respective Supervisor and to the Deputy Commissioner as required.
Must obtain a Commercial Drivers License Class A within oneyear of appointment and maintain license during duration of employment at DOT.
Qualifications :
Four years of fulltime satisfactory experience as a working member of a roadway or bridge/tunnel maintenance and repair crew using asphalt and concrete mixes; and/or performing such tasks as debris/bulk removal; mechanical sweeping drain/scupper cleaning on bridges/tunnels or related structures at least two years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
Possession of a Class B Commercial Driver License valid in the State of New York with no restrictions on the use of air brakes. This license must be maintained for the duration of employment.

To be assigned to Assignment Level II the candidate must have at least one year of experience working in Assignment Level I or an additional year of experience as described above under Qualification Requirements at least three years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.
