The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining proper cleanliness of all public areas restrooms heart of the house areas bars restaurants offices locker room employees bathroom all retail space and exterior of building ensuring the safety and confidentiality of all guests.

- Remove all drinking glasses in public and retail spaces and bring to pantry
- Clean public bathrooms and replenish all toilet paper soap toiletries towels and sanitary napkins in all bathrooms
- Clean retail area
- Clean all offices
- Clean all locker rooms
- Clean all staff bathrooms and replenish all toilet paper soap toiletries towels and sanitary napkins in all bathrooms
- Clean all elevators
- Clean all outside areas sidewalks and gutters
- Clean all counters and counter tops
- Clean all carpet including vacuuming extracting and spot cleaning interior and exterior of building
- Clean all floors including buffing sweeping mopping stripping and waxing
- Clean all furniture and dust vacuum extract and spot clean
- Clean all escalators including handrails and glass
- Clean and high dust all pictures picture frames and mirrors
- Clean all public and retail telephones
- Clean all fixtures vents and lights
- Clean all stairs and railings
- Clean all ash urns and ashtrays
- Clean all stairwells
- Move furniture and clean underneath and/or behind; place furniture back in original position
- Clean all doors and door frames
- Clean all windows and show cases
- Remove and recycle trash from all public areas offices heart of house and locker rooms
- Place and remove rain mats
- Hang and bring down flags
- Remove graffiti and gum from all surfaces
- Remove snow and spread salt
- Clean bodily fluids blood human and animal feces
- Assist in emergency clean up that will include but not limited to flood; i.e. wet vacuum
- Remove debris and dead leaves from plants and planters and clean planters
- Prepare cleaning cart
- Maintain a clean working area at all times
- Maintain equipment according to manufactures instructions
- Report all concerns related to Engineering/Maintenance Health and Safety Security or Suspicious circumstances (including smells/sights and sound) to the Manager
- Adhere to Fairmont grooming standards at all times
- Observe health and safety guidelines at all times
- Wear safety equipment and/or protection if required
- Perform other related duties as required and requested by supervisor
- Comply with all hotel and departmental standards policies and procedures
Qualifications :
- Knowledge of proper equipment handling
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling
- Knowledge of correct equipment maintenance
- Knowledge of Blood Borne Pathogens
- Ability to perform all above mentioned general and specific job duties
- Must be flexible in terms of working hours
- Must work well in stressful highpressure situations
- Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail speed accuracy followthrough courtesy and cooperativeness.
- Ability to approach all encounters with guests and employees in a professional serviceoriented manner.
- Ability to gain knowledge of all hotel facilities to answer questions from guest and members
- Ability to understand and comply with all hotel and departmental standards policies and procedures.
- Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with co workers management and guests
