Salary: $42.24 $54.87 per hour

  • Relocation: Reimbursement available consistent with UHN policy

The JDMI Research Division of specializes in both MRI and PET. As a valued member of Team JDMI you will play a key role in supporting both the MRI and PET function.

Duties

  • Builds MRI Protocols as outlined in the research documents/imaging guidelines
  • Performs PETMRI and MRI Procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals to aid in patient diagnosis intervention and or treatment
  • Ensures MRI Safety Standards of Practice are followed at all times
  • Operates troubleshoots and ensures safe functioning of medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to properly document all procedures and test results
  • Attend Research meetings as required
  • Assist in the preparation of manuscripts and grand applications and data processing
  • Responsible for teaching training educational research safety and quality improvement programs/activities
  • Maintain uptodate knowledge of and utilizing the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) to review manipulate and archive digital medical images of data in final image formation
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care
  • Understand and follow Hospital and departmental Research policies and procedures to improve technical quality

Qualifications :

  • Completion of a recognized post diploma program in MRI or recognized equivalent with MRI certification
  • Certification in Nuclear Medicine from a recognized academic institution
  • Completion of Crosssection Anatomy course and contrast injection course
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (B.C.L.S) program Level LL: Basic Rescuer certification 
  • Minimum three (3) years recent clinical MRI experience
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Membership with CAMRT 
  • Ability to competently operate PET diagnostic equipment an asset
  • Administration of radiopharmaceuticals intravenously under the direction of the nuclear medicine physician or authorized user
  • Calculate measure and record radiation dosage of radiopharmaceuticals received used and disposed under the direction of the nuclear medicine physician
  • Disposal of radioactive materials and storage of radiopharmaceuticals following all CNSC requirements
  • Reconstruction of image data for subsequent quantitative analyses applying applying appropriate corrections for attenuation random scatters motion etc. per direction of the nuclear medicine physician or physicist
  • Performs transfer and backup of imaging data
  • Performs venipuncture or catheterization to provide access for administration of radiopharmaceuticals and fluids or the removal of blood for metabolite survival or recovery (of the radiopharmaceutical) analysis
  • Monitors radiation work areas (wipe testing weekly surveys) and other areas as needed
  • Maintain quarterly equipment (dose calibrator) linearity and constancy checks
  • Previous Cardiac MRI experience an asset
  • Demonstrate excellence in technical skills and image quality
  • Demonstrate thoroughness and reliability in study documentation
  • Demonstrate independent decisionmaking
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under stressful conditions
  • Ability to provide consistent high quality imaging following specific guidelines without variation
  • Ability to perform research exams independently
  • Excellent problem solving and recognition skills
  • Effective time management skills ability to organize work and set priorities 
  • Effective computer skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellence attendance availability on evenings potentially occasional weekends
