Job Summary
Reporting to the Director of Operations Altum Health the Manager Prosthetics & Orthotics will provide operational leadership for the Prosthetics/Orthotics Service. The incumbent will support the coordination management and operational aspects of the Service and will help to further its shared vision and strategic plan.
Duties
- Provide leadership in the development of the P&O and Outpatient Rehabilitation Services Strategic Plan and annual business plans which includes major goals objectives and initiatives. Support the operationalization of the vision and strategic plan.
- Identify service planning opportunities and preparing proposals for new services revenue generation opportunities and additional funding.
- Provide leadership managerial oversight and direction to staff with respect to the provision of high quality efficient and costeffective service delivery and manufacturing following policies and procedures including identification of improvements.
- With primary managerial accountability for the service lead or participate in meetings related to the services and act as a central resource to coordinate and facilitate engagement with internal and external hospital and community partners to provide high quality integrated services.
- Partner with key Programs and Departments to develop lead and participate in the implementation of strategic projects.
- Foster collaborative interdepartental relations with the clinical programs in particular the Amputee Rehabilitation Service
- Manage project timelines lead interdisciplinary project teams provides status reports and evaluate effectiveness of improvement activities.
Qualifications :
Education
- At minimum completion of a Bachelors Degree in a Regulated healthcare profession or recognized equivalent required
- Registration in good standing with a Regulated Health Professions College in Ontario and a membership in a relevant Professional Association is required.
- Post Graduate completion of a recognized Prosthetic and Orthotic Program preferred and/or Masters degree in Health Administration or related field is preferred
Experience:
- At minimum 35 years of related experience
- Recent experience demonstrating handson manufacturing and fabrication skills of prosthetic and orthotic devices preferred.
Professional Affiliations/Memberships: - Membership with any of the following Associations is preferred:
- Prosthetist Certification or Orthotist Certification with the Canadian Board for Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists (C.B.C.P.O.)
- Ontario Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (O.A.P.O)
- Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (C.A.P.O)
- American Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists (A.A.P.O)
- Membership with the International Society of Prosthetists and Orthotists
