Chamberlain College of Nursing is pleased to announce part time teaching opportunities for our Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN program at our campus in Tysons Corner VA. #onsite

The typical course of instruction may include:

Fundamentals of Microbiology with Lab (BIOS242)

This course covers basic concepts of microbiology with emphasis on medically important microorganisms and infectious diseases. Also addressed are microscopy microbial growth and genetics antimicrobial agents epidemiology and immune system responses to pathogens. Lab exercises focus on aseptic techniques isolation and culture of microorganisms microscopy and staining techniques.

Anatomy & Physiology IIV with Lab (BIOS251 thru BIOS256)

This is a fourcourse sequence in which human anatomy and physiology are studied using a body systems approach. Coursework emphasizes interrelationships between form and function at the gross and microscopic levels of organization.

Topics include:

  1. Basic anatomical and directional terminology muscle tissues fundamental concepts and principles of cell biology history and the integumentary and skeletal systems
  2. Fundamental concepts and principles of the muscular and nervous systems special senses and the endocrine system
  3. Cardiovascular immune and respiratory systems
  4. Digestive urinary and reproductive systems

Courses meet once or twice a week typically for 24 hours per day; courses run in eightweek sessions. The facetoface interaction in lab and classroom is blended with technology (such as online discussions and online assignments) for an enhanced learning environment. Commitment is on a coursebycourse basis.

Responsibilities: 

  • Develops and provides students with an approved Adtalem Global Education syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus and which includes the terminal course objectives.
  • Organizes prepares and regularly revises and update all course materials.
  • Uses appropriate technological options for online technologies and courserelated software including Websites email and online discussions for preparing the course and making it accessible to students.
  • Models effective oral and written communications that engage the students provide clarity and improve student learning.
  • Sets clear expectations for the course by publishing course terminal objectives assignment/examinations dates and weight the distribution of various evaluation categories.
  • Ensures that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives.
  • Demonstrates consistency and fairness in the preparation and grading of exams and provide timely feedback to students.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards

Qualifications :

  • Earned a masters or doctorate degree in the course subject with a minimum of 18 or more graduate credit hours earned directly in the topic. 
  • Are able to provide official transcripts for all earned degrees from a regionally accredited institution (or a NACES approved US coursebycourse equivalency evaluation for degrees earned and conferred outside of the US)
  • Have taught or been told youre a natural at teaching and helping others learn.
  • Possess genuine passion for nursing education and lifelong learning.
  • Have exceptional subject matter expertise as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Additional Information :

Chamberlain Visiting Professor Position Campus:
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country the expected compensation rate for this position is between $1120 per assignment to $7245 per assignment depending on the candidates education and experience.

Actual pay may be adjusted based on jobrelated factors permitted by law such as type of course taught; experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
