Job Description

A wellknown healthcare organization is seeking to hire a Medical Billing Specialist. They are continuing to grow and need to add a new person to the team. In this seat you will be responsible for reviewing claims and following up on unpaid claims communicating with payers to address issues and conducting monthly reports of insurance follow up reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform weekly billing with the contracted insurance companies
  • Handle all outstanding balance amounts
  • Monitor AR report and follow up on the status of pending claims
  • Respond to claim denials according to the contract regulated procedures
  • Make outbound collection communications with the agencys contracts in a professional manner
  • Collect contract payments in accordance with claim payment due dates
  • Resubmit and/or appeal underpaid/unpaid claims as appropriate
  • Review and direct assigned accounts and all applicable collection reports
  • Report to the companys management on the status of payment resolutions


Requirements

  • Must have strong communication problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast changing environment
  • Working knowledge of PC MS Word MS Excel MS Outlook required
  • Prior experience in HHA eXchange preferred but willing to train
  • Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy
  • Creative selfdisciplined and capable of identifying and completing critical tasks independently and with a sense of urgency


QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of 5 years of accounts payable experience required Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with experience using formulas/pivot tables, etc. Experience with NetSuite is a plus, requires experience with accounting software Strong ability in managing priorities Strong customer service skills Knowledge of three way matching of purchase orders, packing slips and invoices Ability to perform in a high-growth, fast-paced, collaborative work environment Ideal candidates will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization skills, thrive in a fast-paced environment and keen attention to details
