Position Overview:
As a LongTerm Care Worker you will provide compassionate and highquality care to residents in a longterm care facility. You will play a vital role in supporting residents physical emotional and social wellbeing while maintaining their dignity and promoting a safe and comfortable environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Resident Care: Assist residents with daily living activities such as bathing dressing grooming and toileting ensuring their comfort and hygiene.
- Mobility Support: Help residents with mobility including transferring positioning and using mobility aids while prioritizing safety.
- Health Monitoring: Observe and report any changes in residents health behavior or needs to nursing staff.
- Meal Assistance: Support residents during mealtimes by serving food assisting with feeding and monitoring dietary needs.
- Social Engagement: Encourage and participate in recreational activities to promote residents mental and emotional wellbeing.
- Housekeeping: Maintain a clean and organized living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks laundry and sanitation.
- Medication Assistance: Support residents in taking prescribed medications under the supervision of licensed staff.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the healthcare team families and residents to develop and implement personalized care plans.
Qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized healthcare aide or longterm care worker training program.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with residents families and colleagues.
- Patience empathy and a genuine desire to care for the elderly and individuals with complex needs.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting transferring and assisting residents with mobility.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and infection control practices in healthcare settings.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a longterm care or healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic health monitoring techniques.
- Multilingual abilities to communicate effectively with diverse populations.
Work Environment:
- Longterm care facility setting with a focus on providing a homelike atmosphere.
- Shifts may include weekends holidays and nights as required.
