Job Description

Employment Type: Part or Full Time options
Remuneration: $ Negotiable on experience
Hours Per Week: Minimum 6 hours per day  
Location: Office WFH 

Ability Action Australias Western Sydney team are looking for experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners who have current suitability at the Proficient level as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. #AAA

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting NDIS participants along with their families and/or carers to identify their needs through assessment and personcentred planning
  • Evaluating developing and delivering evidencebased support plans within a complex support space
  • Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
  • Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants goals passions and strengths
  • Building the knowledge capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives family carers friends etc
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners
  • Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice

 


Qualifications :

To be considered suitable you will have:

  • Current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission at the Proficient level as a Behaviour Support Practitoner 
  • Completed a degree level qualification as an allied health professional
  • NDIS Report writing experience
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
  • Proactive attitude motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
  • Genuine passion for working in the disability sector

To be successful in this role you will be solution focused highly organised and possess exceptional people skills.
