Job Description
- Casual role with up to full time weekly hours available on occassions
- Operating hours Monday to Friday 8:30am 4:30pm
- Immediate start
- Based in Burleigh Heads Queensland
As a Sample Preparation Assistant you will be responsible for ensuring all samples are appropriately receipted sorted prepared packed and sent for analysis in a timely manner to achieve operational customer and quality requirements. This role will provide assistance and backup to the Sample Preparation Officer.
This autonomous role will focus on:
- Receipting samples from walkins
- Checking the PO Box for sample deliveries
- Ensuring client details and test requirements are correct
- Drying samples in ovens
- Grinding of soils & plant samples as required
- Adequately packing and organising courier pickups using an online portal
- Ensuring the courier deadlines are met
- Working in the fastpaced sample receipt and preparation area
- Ensuring samples are completed in a timely manner and correct methods procedures and work instructions are adhered to
Qualifications :
What we are looking for to join our team
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks
- Ability to follow procedures with absolute attention to detail
- Excellent numeracy written and oral communication skills
- Great organisational skills and ability to multitask
- Able to be deadline focused
Experience in a commercial sample preparation laboratory would be advantageous but not a requirement to be successful in this role.
Rather previous experience working in a fastpaced environment (e.g. fast food/hospitality/warehouse) would be highly regarded/beneficial for this role.
