Job Description
DHHSITD requires the services of a Sr. Systems Administrator to provide leadership and perform tasks associated with the build and deploy processes for the NCFAST application.
The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) requires the assistance of a contract resource to serve as a Sr. Systems Administrator to support the development Automation and implementation of portfolio applications. This position will be responsible for performing tasks associated with the applications environment management build/deploy processes for the NCFAST and Child Welfare applications and troubleshooting build related issues for the portfolio applications.
This position is responsible for providing lead role in build and deploy activities in large number of test development and production environments utilized by the portfolio program applications.
This responsibility encompasses configurations and troubleshooting of web layer OS layer (AIX Redhat Linux/CentOS and Windows operating systems) the IBM WebSphere with clustering Job scheduler Dynatrace and other related products.
This position will also perform functions and enablement tasks which includes Automation; maintaining and using CI/CD pipelines like Copado; Supporting the creation and configuration of AWS EC2 instances using CFT scripts gathering firewall requests where needed and installing applications for various components; Supporting the setup of Ansible scripts for automating deployments of various applications JobScheduler and other components.
This position will work closely with the Engineers Operations and Maintenance Team and Database Administrators to ensure proper environmental functionality and performance.
Required/Desired Skills
Skill Required /Desired Amount of Experience Knowledge and experience of administering J2EE applications in WebSphere Application Server Apache Tomcat and Jboss Required 7 Years Knowledge and experience working with following operating systems: RHEL and Windows Servers. Required 5 Years Knowledge and experience in name and ipbased virtual hosts and clustering/loadbalancing technologies. Required 7 Years Experience in J2EEspecific application hosting including VM tuning application tracing/debugging and application deployment. Required 7 Years Experience in container resource configuration (JDBC JMS et al) and security configuration. Required 2 Years Experience with J2EE application building/deployment techniques and tools including but not limited to Ant Maven Ivy etc Required 3 Years Experience with automation technologies for the related platforms (OS and Application) such as Ansible UNIX shell script Perl Python etc. Required 2 Years Knowledge and experience with hardware specs evaluation platform sizing/capacity planning to support an enterprise application hosting environment. Required 2 Years Experience in creation and configuration of AWS EC2 instances using CFT scripts and installing applications for various components. Required 1 Years Knowledge and experience in managing AWS based infrastructure and applications Required 1 Years Full Understanding of CI/CD Pipelines Highly desired 0
